When creating or modifying a backup task, you can specify on what type of events Yadis! should react.
These settings are configured in Task > Files > File Monitoring:

fileMonitoring

The backup task can react on 3 types of events:

1) Create events:
If this option is checked, then Yadis! will backup any file which is created in the source folder (or a child folder of this source folder) and which matches the filter.
It is recommended to enable this option.

2) Change events:
If this option is checked, then Yadis! will backup any file which is modified in the source folder (or a child folder of this source folder) and which matches the filter.
It is recommended to enable this option.

The selection of files to be backupped can be refined by choosing modification triggers:
a. File Name: if enabled then the file will be backupped if it is renamed.
In the backup target location the backupped file will be renamed accordingly.
It is recommended to enable this option.

If this option is disabled then renaming a file will not trigger a backup.

b. Directory Name: if enabled then the files will be backupped if the containing directory is renamed.
In the backup target location the containg directory will be renamed accordingly.
It is recommended to enable this option.

If this option is disabled then renaming a directory will not trigger a rename of the backup target directory.

c. File Size: if enabled then a file will be backupped if its size changes.
It is recommended to enable this option.

d. Attributes: if enabled then a file will be backupped if one of its attributes is changed.
For example, if you set the file to be read-only then the file will be backupped.

If this option is disabled then changing an attribute of a file will not trigger a backup.
